Who is Anthony Alborn and
what can he do for your business today?

Anthony Alborn is one of Australia's foremost speakers on advertising and sales training for newspapers, their clients and staff on creating effective advertising, marketing and selling that works.

He is the only West Australian (to his knowledge) to have been chosen as a keynote newspaper advertising speaker for the prestigious international PANPA (Pacific Area Newspapers Publishers Association) annual awards and is also a past Winner of a PANPA Best Regional Newspaper Advertising Campaign for a client in the 'The Kalgoorlie Miner' newspaper.

He ran his own advertising and publishing business in Melbourne and was the state sales trainer in Western Australia and Victoria for worldwide publisher Crowell Collier McMillan.

He has also spoken on many occasions in WA with leading Australian marketing expert Barry Urquhart, from Marketing Focus who sings his praises.

He has recently worked with leading regional newspapers in New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania, and has been a Keynote Speaker for the annual Victorian Country Press Assoc meeting in Melbourne on two separate occasions. He addressed the annual meeting of the South Australian Country Press Assoc in February 2008.

In 2009 he worked as a lecturer for TAFE Central in Perth two days a week conducting their six month Advertising Diploma Course for students. In April 2011 he spent two weeks working for the Elliott Newspaper Group in Victoria and carried out four Advertising Seminars in Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Kyneton, (See feedback testimonials here) and doing 38 follow up sessions with clients after the seminars. In August 2012 in South Australia he conducted an advertising sales training workshop for the Barossa Valley's weekly newspaper 'The Leader' with clients and staff over four days. In June 2013 he spent five days with 'The Courier' newspaper in NSW training staff, and conducting Advertising Seminars for clients.

Anthony worked with the Mildura Weekly in Victoria at the end of July, 2015 carrying out an Ad Seminar for clients and training for staff, with personal follow up sessions over two days. He was also chosen to be a Keynote Speaker at the national conference held in Cairns in July 2015 for Rural Marketing Agents and carried out three one hour workshop sessions over two days.

In May and June 2016 Anthony carried out newspaper advertising and sales staff training, and an advertising client seminar in Bairnsdale and staff training in Hobart (Kingborough Chronicle & Huon News) for East Vic Media who are based in Victoria and who own and run 10 newspapers.
He also had the honour again of judging the annual Victorian Country Press Awards in two categories for the upcoming Awards Ceremony in August 2016 in Melbourne.

In Western Australia Anthony has carried out literally hundreds of advertising training seminars from a handful of people to hundreds of people across WA. He has delivered seminars right across the spectrum from Land Developers, Motor Vehicle Dealerships (Including AHG), Real Estate Agents (Including Acton), Small Business Centres, Retirement Villages Associations, Shopping Centre Groups, Travel Agents Groups to Perth's Local Chamber of Commerce members.

For 39 years he worked for 'The West Australian' Newspaper organisation, starting as an advertising sales exec, and after eight years becoming their first full time professional advertising sales trainer where he looked after the business for a further 28 years, and conducted the advertising sales training & business development strategy at 'The West Australian' newspaper for staff and clients, but has now established once again his own advertising business helping clients (and staff) to get the most from their advertising investment

He worked extensively with the 23 country newspapers in The West group from Kununurra and Broome to Albany and carried out regular client intensives/ideas sessions with small to big advertisers, and still personally produces single ads as well as ongoing campaigns for clients.

In Perth in the last 12 months he has produced a series of ads for local furniture manufacturer/retailer Parker Interiors which has met with outstanding success in terms of revenue returns and ongoing referral business. The owner has said the ads have set a new benchmark for sales results especially in the tough economic conditions that WA has endured after the end of the mining boom, and several furniture companies going out of business.

He also organised all of the commercial tours of the newspaper/TV site which included the new addition of the Channel 7 studio and broadcasting network, and is fully conversant with all aspects of newspaper production and printing from start to finish.

He reads and studies extensively and will share with you the success strategies necessary to build better advertising, sales and marketing that work, and produce results in today's tough economic conditions.

Anthony is married with four children, who he loves dearly, and enjoys studying metaphysics, exploring, swimming, watching documentaries, eating chocolate and cheese, and drinking the odd glass of wine.
