Anthony Alborn is one of Australia’s foremost speakers on advertising.
Anthony Alborn is a star presenter on a diverse range of topics.
He has delivered over 140 presentations to various community groups over 5
years.
These presentations cover the ‘History of WA from 1827-1910’ and include the early days of the start of WA by the initial visit here by Captain Stirling, and then how the colony was formed, and the trials and tribulations it went
through in it’s formative years. There are now a total of 72 presentations in all, including five major ones on ‘Regional WA’, Government House, plus a snapshot of Perth and Fremantle with some of their famous and historic
buildings, ‘The Early Explorers’ covers the story before major white settlement and includes the bloody mutiny of the ‘Batavia’, plus Dutch and French visits.
Anthony is also one of Australia’s foremost speakers on advertising, newspapers and advertising sales training for staff and clients. He worked for The West Australian newspaper for almost 40 years, the last 28 as the
only advertising sales trainer for the group and travelling right around Western Australia to the various newspaper centres, and conducting all the commercial tours of Newspaper House where Channel 7 is now based in
Osborne Park, and the Herdsman Print Centre where 2 Million Newspapers are printed every week.
He is the only West Australian that he knows of to have been chosen as a keynote newspaper advertising speaker for the prestigious international PANPA (Pacific Area Newspapers Association) annual awards.
Previously he ran his own advertising and publishing business in Melbourne and was the state sales trainer in W.A. and Victoria for worldwide publisher Crowell Collier McMillan.
He has worked with leading regional newspapers in NSW, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. In Western Australia Anthony has carried out literally hundreds of advertising seminars from a handful of people to
hundreds of people across WA.
He worked extensively with the 23 country newspapers in The West Australian newspaper group from Broome to Albany, and carried out regular client intensives/ideas sessions with small to big advertisers.
Anthony is President of The West Australian Quarter Century Plus Club, whose members have worked for The West for over 25 years.
He is also President of ‘The Dogles’ Club, (The Dockers & Eagles combined) and puts up regular posts on Facebook with results.
Anthony lives in Lakelands Village Gnangara , and has two wonderful adult children and a lovely 6 year old dog Gracie. He reads and studies extensively on a wide range of subjects and will share with your community group his
passion and knowledge on any of these topics.
